International Transport Week 2016

From May 31 till June 3 2016 the International Transport Week will take place in the city of Odessa (Ukraine). This traditional annual event provides a series of events on transport issues in the context of implementation of the Association Agreement and reforms in the transport sector.

In the framework of the International Transport Week 2016 it is planned to conduct the International Forum “Trade, transport, customs: dialogue, cooperation, coordination”. This Forum will become the main opening event of the International Transport Week. The discussion during the Forum will be held on the following topics: “The positive effect of the coordinated interaction of highly developed transport communications and trade flow management” and «Sectoral dialogue: modern understanding of the transport sector and mobility».

Moreover, on June 1, 2016 within the International Transport Week Ukraine as a Chair-country, is honored to host the 12th Annual Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA.

On June 2, 2016 the round table “The Association Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and EU, European Atomic Energy Community and their member states, on the other hand, as a main engine of transport sector modernization in Ukraine” will be held.

It is expected to have a fruitful discussion on the development of practical solutions regarding the effectiveness of the transport system maintenance, including trends in the international economy and their influence on the transport efficiency, implementation of innovate technologies in operation of freight transportations and finding new logistic solutions.

Also, within the framework of the International Transport Week following events are scheduled:

• Session of the Heads of Agencies Responsible for Transport Development in the Member-States of GUAM (31.05.2016).
• Round Table with EU and UNECE on the Development of Intermodal Transport in Ukraine (01.06.2016).
• Workshop “International Maritime Transport within the Free Trade Area Implementation with EU” (02.06.2016)
