CORPORACÍON AMERICA AIRPORTS TO RAISE USD 480 MILLION FROM SALE OF 17.8% STAKE

Corporacíon America Airports to raise USD 480 million from sale of 17.8% stakeGlobal airport operator, Corporación América Airports SA, today announced that it expects to earn USD 480 million from selling a 17.8% stake in the company.

The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Corporación América SA (CASA), has set a price of USD 17 per share for the 28,571,429 shares being sold in an initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange.

The total number of shares being traded includes 11,904,762 new shares and 16,666,667 existing shares. 

In addition, the underwriters have been granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 4,285,714 shares to cover over-allotments.

Oppenheimer, BofA Merrill Lynch, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs are acting as joint book-runners and Santander is acting as co-manager in the offering.

The offering will be made only by means of a prospectus filed as part of an effective registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form F-1. 

A final prospectus for the offering, when available, may be obtained from the underwriters.

CASA has an 85% stake in Aeropuertos Argentina (AA2000), which operatesBuenos Aires’s Ezeiza International Airport and Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and 31 other airports across Argentina.

Also in Argentina, CASA operates and has 85% and 80% stakes respectively in the Patagonian airports of Bahia Blanca and Neuquen, which are not part of AA2000 group of airports.

In Uruguay, CASA manages Montevideo–Carrasco and Laguna del Sauce-Punta del Este airports in Uruguay courtesy of its controlling stake in the Puerta del Sur (formerly CerealSur) consortium.

Through sister company Inframérica – a 50/50 joint venture with Infravix Emprendimentos – it has a controlling 51% stake in Brasilia’s Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport (where state owned Infraero is the only other shareholder) and a 100% interest in the Natal’s São Gonçalo do Amarante–Governador Aluízio Alves International Airport, located in Rio Grande de Norte state, where it has a 25-year concession.

In Ecuador CASA operates Guayaquil’s José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport because of its 50% stake in the TAGSA consortium and through 100% owned subsidiary, ECOGAL, runs Seymour Airport in the Galapagos Islands.

Corporacíon America also has interests in six gateways in southern Peru (Arequipa, Juliaca, Puerto Maldonado, Tacna and Ayacucho) due to its joint ownership of Aeropuertos Andinos del Peru with Andino Investment Holding. 

Both companies also make-up the Kuntur Wasi consortium, which will build and operate Cuzco’s new Chincheros Airport.

Further afield, CASA manages Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan, Armenia, and through subsidiary Corporacíon America Italia has a controlling 51.3% stake in Toscana Aeroporti, the operator of Pisa–Galileo Galilei and Florence–Amerigo Vespucci airports in Tuscany, Italy. 

It also has a small shareholding in Airgest, operator of Sicily’s Vincenzo Florio Trapani–Birgi Airport.
