BOC Aviation orders six Boeing 787-9s
Lessor BOC Aviation has signed a purchase agreement with Boeing for six 787-9s, in a deal valued at USD 1.69 billion at list prices.
The company says in a stock exchange disclosure that the aircraft are expected to be delivered in 2018 and 2019.
It has also granted an option to an unnamed carrier to either take them on long-term lease or purchase the aircraft outright. The lessor would not identify the airline when contacted by FlightGlobal.
No engine selection was disclosed, however, the 787 can be powered by either General Electric GEnx or Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines.

BOC Aviation says the purchase will be funded through cash on hand, loan proceeds or other borrowings.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the lessor has one 787-8 in its portfolio, and holds orders for four Trent 1000-powered 787-9s that are scheduled for delivery to Air Europa in 2019.
