FRANKFURT AIRPORT OPENS NEW ROOF TERRACE IN TIME FOR SUMMER

Frankfurt Airport has opened a new Ђ1.5 million roof terrace that provides passengers with an impressive 'open air' view of the airfield.

Located in the transit zone of Terminal 1, the airport claims that new addition provides somewhere relaxing where passengers with a few minutes to spare before boarding flights can "catch their  breath".

"Besides fresh air, it boasts a spectacular view of the bustling activity at Germany’s largest aviation hub: ground handling, takeoffs and landings," says the airport, noting that the 138sqm 'Open Air Deck' also boasts comfortable seating areas.

And a monitor shows the weather report for the next few days, straight from the German Weather Service. 

The roof terrace is open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and can be accessed by all passengers in the non-Schengen zone.

All visitors to the airport can naturally enjoy panoramic views of the apron and airfield from the publicly accessible Visitors Terrace in Terminal 2.
