Airbus appoints ATR’s CEO as new CCO

Airbus announced the appointment of Christian Scherer as the company’s new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) on September 13, 2018. Scherer is replacing Eric Schulz who is leaving the company due to “personal reasons”.

Scherer, who is starting the new role with immediate effect, is the CEO of ATR since October 2016. He joined Airbus in 1984 and has held “many senior management positions within the Group,”, the company notes in a statement.

“With Christian Scherer we see one of our most customer-focused leaders at the commercial helm of Airbus,” Tom Enders, Airbus CEO is quoted as saying. “Over his various assignments I greatly valued his international mind-set, his strategic vision, and tremendous commercial expertise.”

Enders is also quoted saying that “We regret Eric Schulz’s decision. We wish him all the best for his future”.
