CORK AIRPORT EXPECTING BUSY BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Cork Airport is set for one of its busiest weekends of the year, with more than 45,000 passengers expected to travel through Ireland’s second largest airport this October Bank Holiday weekend.

The busiest day for the airport will be Thursday, October 25, corresponding with the opening of the 2018 Cork Jazz Festival. 

In total, 328 flights will arrive and depart over the weekend, which will include two new routes – Aer Lingus’ Cork to Lisbon service commences Friday, October 26, and Ryanair’s new five-times weekly service to London Luton Airport begins Sunday, October 28.

Passengers planning to travel out of Cork Airport are advised to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to their flight to avoid any unnecessary delays. 

It’s also advised to go directly to the security screening area once checked in.

Passengers flying on Sunday, October 28 are reminded of Daylight Saving Time with clocks set to go back one hour.

In total, more than 2.4 million passengers will travel through Cork Airport this year, flying to destinations across the UK, Continental Europe and on a direct transatlantic service to the USA (Boston Providence) with Norwegian. 

Cork Airport is forecasting passenger growth of 4% in 2018, and with more scheduled flights to be announced shortly, the upward trajectory looks set to continue into 2019.
