ANA launches new e-Commerce freight service

Japanese airline group ANA Holdings (ALNPY) is launching a new logistics service dedicated to transporting cross-border e-commerce cargo and parcels.

eCommerce is currently a big driver for air freight, pushing logistics companies and airlines across the United States, Europe, and Asia to expand their air cargo operations.

The new service, from ANA’s freight forwarding and logistics company Overseas Courier Service (OCS), will launch on September 15, 2021, under the name iEC.

OCS is an express air cargo forwarder and uses ANA’s domestic and international air network. iEC will initially focus on South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, with plans to expand into the United States, Europe, and China, ANA Holdings (ALNPY) announced in a statement on September 8, 2021.

“As e-commerce business continues to expand globally, we are launching iEC, a new robust service that leverages our more than 60 years of experience and ANA network for a seamless experience to our customers," said Takeshi Negishi, President and CEO of OCS.

“We have developed the iEC to remove the complicated process of shipping e-Commerce goods that customers face,” Negishi added.
