On landing, the aircraft stopped on the runway for about 15 minutes and was later towed away from the runway after passengers disembarked on the runway. In a statement, an airline spokesperson said:

“American Eagle flight 4965, operated by Republic Airways, with service from Memphis to Regan National Airport (DCA), experienced a mechanical issue upon landing at DCA. The flight landed safely, and there were no reported injuries. All passengers were bussed to the terminal.”

None of the 71 passengers and four crew on board was injured. However, the runway was closed for few hours, and some flights were diverted to nearby airports.
