Wizz Air brings back London Luton-Athens

Wizz Air will recommence flights to the Greek capital city of Athens this winter out of its base at London Luton Airport. The carrier will offer a daily service between the two destinations from October 30th.

Wizz Air said,

"Athens is one of the oldest cities in the world, bursting with both ancient treasures and modern delights. Whether it is exploring the mazes of little streets, enjoying the traditional Greek delicacies, or simply relaxing on the beach, Athens is the perfect break for passengers looking to explore the heart of Greece."

Wizz's website reveals that the outbound journey from London Luton Airport will be an early morning flight, with departures currently scheduled between 06:45 and 07:50. The return flight from Athens will be in the afternoon between 13:00 and 14:30 depending on your day of departure.

The airline hasn't revealed which aircraft it will deploy on this route, so passengers can expect either an Airbus A320 or Airbus A321, either of which have an all-economy configuration.

One-way fares begin at £79.99

Tickets are now available to book on Wizz Air's official website. While Wizz has claimed its one-way fares begin at £79.99, fares on its website are currently cheaper than that and come with an even bigger discount for Wizz Discount Club members.

The carrier offers a 'Pack Light' option granting one carry-on bag (max dimensions of 40x30x20cm), along with 'Pack and Save' and 'All In/Full Flex' options offering perks like checked baggage, free seat selection, and an additional carry-on bag.

The airline added,

"For ultimate peace of mind during this time, passengers can book tickets with the airline’s travel insurance package which includes COVID-19 cover and WIZZ Flex. With WIZZ Flex, passengers can cancel their flight up to three hours before departure without any fee and receive 100% of the fare immediately reimbursed in airline credit."
