With Black Friday upon us, airlines around the world are tempting passengers with some significant discounts. Simple Flying has been shopping around for some of the best Black Friday deals on offer from European airlines – let’s take a look at the top five.

1/5TAP Air Portugal – Europe to Brazil in Business Class

Thanks to TAP Air Portugal’s significant presence in Brazil, the airline is able to offer some great savings to the South American country. This includes business class fares – perfect for those looking to sample the carrier’s Executive Class on its flagship Airbus A330neo aircraft.

For example, return flights from Vienna (VIE) to Salvador (SSA) via Lisbon (LIS) in the airline’s Executive Class start at just Ђ2,440 (USD 2,542) return.

The dates for this particular deal are February 9th to February 26th, 2023. Unexpectedly, this covers Salvador’s Carnival, which will take place from February 17th to February 21st next year. More deals can be found on the airline's website.

2/5PLAY – one-stop connections from Europe to the US

The Icelandic low-cost carrier PLAY is offering passengers up to 40% off when traveling on selected dates between Europe and the US via its hub at Keflavik International Airport (KEF). The promotion is valid for flights between December 2022 and March 2023.

The discounted routes are between the airline’s US destinations – Boston (BOS), Baltimore Washington (BWI), and New York Stewart (SWF), and a number of European destinations – Barcelona (BCN), Geneva (GVA), London (STN), Liverpool (LPL), Dublin (DUB), Copenhagen (CPH), Paris (CDG), and Berlin (BER).

Simple Flying found flights from Copenhagen to New York Stewart via Keflavik for just £189 (USD 228) return, traveling from March 1st to March 8th, 2023. Of course, being a low-cost carrier, passengers will need to pay for any extras such as baggage, but for those traveling light, this is an incredibly cheap Transatlantic fare. More offers can be found on PLAY's website.

3/5Iberia – domestic bargains

Spanish flag carrier Iberia is offering heavily discounted fares across its extensive European and long-haul route network. The cheapest tickets to be found are to a number of popular domestic destinations.

If you’re looking to explore the north of Spain, prices start at just Ђ25 (USD 26) one way from Madrid Barajas International Airport (MAD) to the likes of Vigo (VGO), Bilbao (BIO), and San Sebastian (EAS). The full range of Black Friday deals can be found on Iberia.com.

There are some great deals to be had from London Heathrow to British Airways’ three Californian destinations – Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and San Diego (SAN), with prices starting at just £349 (USD 422) return.

Passengers traveling to Los Angeles will get the added bonus of flying on the carrier’s Airbus A380, while those heading for San Diego will get to experience the airline’s newest aircraft, the Airbus A350.

Predictably, among all of British Airways’ long-haul routes, New York (JFK) offers the cheapest fares, from just £309 (USD 374) return. And with up to 10 frequencies per day between London Heathrow and New York JFK, there are plenty of options to choose from. Full details can be found on the British Airways website.

At the time of writing, fellow London Heathrow-based carrier Virgin Atlantic is yet to release its Black Friday offers, but some good deals are expected. Check out the airline's website later today for updates.

5/5Finnair – for those heading East

Make the most of oneworld member Finnair’s extensive route network in Asia with one of its exclusive deals heading East.

Simple Flying found some bargains to Bangkok in the airline’s premium economy cabin. The cheapest price is currently £1,256 (USD 1,521), departing from London Heathrow via Helsinki (HEL) on March 6th, and returning on March 21st, 2023. Take a look at Finnair.com for full details.
