So far, the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft has successfully conducted more than 300 miles of road testing around Silicon Valley with a DMV number plate.

“Being the first electric flying car developer to be successfully conducting driving tests on local roads in California validates our efforts to develop an eVTOL that is roadable and with an emphasis on safety,” explained Maki Kaplinsky, Chair & COO/cofounder.

ASKA announced in June 2023, that the A5 had been awarded Certificate of Authorization (COA) and Special Airworthiness Certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The type certification process is progressing with the FAA and advancing towards the next milestone, G1 status.

“ASKA A5 is the size of an SUV with its wings folded, so it can drive in normal traffic conditions and shares the road with other vehicles,” says Guy Kaplinsky, CEO/cofounder.

The A5 is capable of Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) from helipads and Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) from runways.

It can carry three passengers up to 250 miles at speeds that reach 150mph.

ASKA launched in 2018 and started taking pre-order reservations in 2021. The company has already secured USD 50 million in pre-orders.
