LOT POLISH AIRLINES IN STAR ALLIANCE FOR 20 YEARS

• 26 October 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of LOT Polish Airlines joining Star Alliance, namely the global airline alliance.

• The membership in the Alliance means that LOT Polish Airlines passengers enjoy access to, among other things, an extensive route network, loyalty programmes, or common airport products and services.

• Star Alliance has been around since 1997, spans the globe, and regularly wins rankings for best aviation alliance – this year it was awarded in the World’s Best Airline Alliance category of the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

It was exactly 20 years ago that LOT Polish Airlines joined Star Alliance, not only enabling the LOT brand to continue to expand worldwide, but also to gain additional benefits for its passengers. Owing to its membership in the Alliance and codeshare agreements with partner airlines including Lufthansa, Air China, and Singapore Airlines, the Polish carrier is expanding the coverage of its flight network. As a result, LOT Polish Airlines passengers can enjoy flights to almost anywhere in the world. Thanks to the coordination of schedules with alliance partners and the concentration of their operations at common terminals of selected airports, passengers significantly reduce their travel time. “Frequent Flyer” programme passengers, on the other hand, can earn and redeem miles on any Star Alliance flight and also gain “Gold” status, giving them entitlement to a range of benefits, be it free access to airport business lounges, priority check-in and boarding, fast-track security screening, and an additional baggage allowance.
