Paris Air Show 2025: As It Happens

The Paris Air Show is back again, running from June 16th to 22nd. The event is held every two years and, alongside the Farnborough International Airshow, which takes place in between, it represents one of the biggest events on the European aviation calendar. The first four days are reserved for trade visitors, before the show is opened up to the general public on Friday and at the weekend.

Held at Le Bourget Airport (LBG), which is situated just to the northeast of the French capital and not too far from the major hub of Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG), the show expects to handle 300,000 unique visitors, with more than 2,500 exhibitors present. Among these are some of the world's largest airlines and manufacturers, meaning that such an event will be ripe for high-profile orders.

  After a positive first day at the 2025 Paris Air Show, Airbus has picked up right where it left off by announcing a major order from VietJet Air. The Vietnamese carrier has penned a deal for up to 150 units of the multinational European planemaker's popular A321neo twinjet, with the airline already being familiar with the narrowbody due to having more than 30 examples of the type at its disposal.

- Wisk Aero Prepares To Launch Autonomous eVTOL Flight Test Program
  As reported earlier today by FlightGlobal, Wisk Aero is preparing to start flight testing its autonomous eVTOL air taxis ahead of planned passenger flights later in the 2020s. Sebastien Vigneron, its CEO, confirmed at the Paris Air Show that the company is "really deep into safety of flight testing," with the first flight set to come in "weeks or months" rather than years. Separately, Wisk also used the air show as an opportunity to announce that it has "established Miami as an early market for US air taxi operations."

  In an interview with Simple Flying's Dillon Shah, EGYPTAIR's CEO, Captain Ahmed Adel, confirmed that the company was in "advanced discussions" with Airbus to exercise existing options for six A350s.   LOT Polish Airlines and Airbus announced today at the Paris Air Show an agreement for up to 84 Airbus A220 family planes. This includes 40 firm orders for now, and options for an additional 44 aircraft. This concerns 20 A220-100s and 20 A220-300s. The deal marks the end of a fight between Embraer and Airbus for the renewal of the LOT Polish Airlines regional fleet of older aircraft from the Brazilian manufacturer.
